Side louvers are best louvers.

There was also a very pristine Volare Premier.

I think it’s a Challenger (‘71?), the Cuda has different tailights and hood.

I second hotwheelsfan - it’s a Challenger.

HHHNNNNGGGG

Also, PA/MD/VA/WV area? I’d know a Giant Foods anywhere. Heck, I worked at one for two years! (Technically Martin’s Foods, but the same company)

PA. I’m actually working on getting the rest of the pictures up now, but I’m not sure if I actually took a better photo of the Challenger.

Awesome. My stepdad actually has a 1971 Challenger convertible. It’s in a state of disrepair, but the body is whole for the most part. It’ll be nice if it ever gets restored.

Shows that everything old is new again...

The 70’s are coming back into fashion.

Dare I say it... that is a COOL Dodge Aspen R/T. I can’t believe I am writing that sentence, and mean it. The black really does it.

Although, I would probably change the wheels to American Racing Vectors (“General Lee” and Grand National wheels). Chromed Cragar SS wheels are a bit too 50s-60s and ubiquitous for a ‘70s. car.

A resto-mod fuel-injected 340 hp motor, or modern Hemi (5.9 would be good enough) swap, with a good 5-speed overdrive manual gearbox, and a well chosen rear differential would make that a nice classic driver, burnouts and fun amounts of acceleration, but civilized cruising manners...

And yes, those quarter window louvers are a very nice piece, and a cool way to turn classic framed-glass windows into a more flush-fitted look, with the louvers fitting smoothly to the bodywork.

The wheels were the only thing I didn’t like appearance wise on that Aspen. The Vectors would be a big improvement. So would a modern Hemi.

I think that it’s great that the cars of the ‘70s are finally starting to be appreciated. It’s nice to see a bit of a change from all of the “classic” American muscle cars.

Between the side window louvers, the slatted grille, and the interval-fade stripe on the side... black/polished AR VN47 Vectors (which are still in American Racing’s catalog, actually) would be the perfect fit.

The Mopar association of those being popular on Dodge Chargers would be kind of a secondary reference.

I really wish there were a new resto-mod fitment of the AR Vector. That wheel deserves to be updated into low-to-mid-offset 17-20” RWD wheel fitments around modern big disc brakes.

American Racing has a modern black&polished 10-spoke design, the AR908 Perform wheel, but it isn’t nearly as dramatic, with straight spokes that aren’t concave, and ends up just looking generic. There are Enkei high-offset wheels with more recurve in the spokes than this, which could actually pull off a bit of the turbine look, if painted and polished similarly.

Kinja'd!!!

Like Enkei’s RSM9 in Piano Black... chuck it in a lathe, polish the faces of the spokes from the rim down to the edge of the hub, and re-clear-coat the wheel, and it would be a more convincing modern successor to AR Vector.
